    MONOLOGUES DRAMATIC

    GANDHI (LINDIADE)
    What do you want from Gandhi? An autograph? A photo? My darshan? You
    dont listen to me, no one listens to me, but you want to look at me? Do not
    look at me! And listen! I will not pray with you today, I will cry: God! Where is
    God! I seek God and I do not find him. And you? You have nauseated him.
    What terrible work you give him to do! Every day, clean the cities, the
    stations, the trains, and the streets you have dirtied and smeared with blood.
    The launderer of your hands and feet, the sweeper of your countless sins
    see what God has become!
    And you come to look at me? For what? You should be in Karol Bagh or
    Nizamuddin or Banghi Colony now, the quarters in tatters and tears. There
    is no water therethey die of thirst, of terror, of cholera. You, hearts of
    stone and sand, dried up sources, dead birds, destroyers of human
    beings. I do not bless you. Go on, stop looking at me like you would eat
    me! And look at yourselves. Take a mirror and look into your hearts. Look
    how pale and dirty they are! What a villainous spectacle! A garden
    overgrown with nettles. A street blockaded by filth! Go on! I advise you to
    clean all of this up.
    I speak to you, because you are before me. But next week, I will seek the
    Pakistani God and I am sure that I will find him just as unhappy and
    humiliated as in Delhi.
