Porn star Tasha Reign’s advice on love, romance and Valentine’s Day

It can be hard navigating the relationship waters, especially with Valentine’s Day looming, so Metro looked to porn star Tasha Reign for some advice since Feb. 14 is her favorite day of the year.

“I love that there’s a specific day to celebrate love. We don’t focus enough on intimacy in our relationships,” she said.

Reign, 28, has been in the adult entertainment industry for the past seven years and won best website at last month’s AVN Awards. She is also a sex columnist and an avid activist for sex workers’ and women’s rights who calls Donald Trump’s presidency “truly horrifying.”

“Because of the normalcy that Donald Trump has brought to sexual assault and to all of the degrading, discriminating and horrible things alive and well in society, I feel less safe as a woman and sex worker,” she said. “At the same time, you have to rally and protest and be involved, but not let it consume your life because you have to also be happy and live your life.”

What, to you, is The Perfect Valentine’s Day?

I’m fine with it varying it every year, but it needs to encompass a few components. It needs to be a planned experience. There needs to be a thoughtful exchange of gifts, little or big, it doesn’t matter. And there has to be steamy, hot, smokin’ sex.

What’s your favorite Valentine’s Day candy?

I love Valentine’s Day Peeps, in the shape of hearts. I’m a big fan of See’s Candies, so I will eat milk chocolate boxes of See’s all day.

Best place for a first date?

A restaurant that’s not too formal or too casual. I actually really like when the guy asks where I want to go.

What makes a great first kiss?

When both people are present, in the moment and want the kiss, and it’s not a surprise kiss on one party. And fresh breath is necessary. Pivotal.

What tips do you have for handling a first fight?

I think if you give yourself the time needed to respond to the fight, you think about what you say, you don’t just use your emotions, those are the best tips because you’re not necessarily going to say things that could ruin the rest of the relationship. You can’t take back the words you say.

Most romantic weekend getaway you could be swept away on?

Hawaii or maybe this island called Pig Island in the Caribbean, the pigs swim in the ocean. I have two mini pigs, so this would be my dream.

What’s the best way to keep the romance alive in a long-term relationship?

Cliché as it, sex is so important. You have to continue to spice it up in the bedroom, give foreplay. Without that, the relationship really takes a toll.

What’s your favorite position?

Doggy. It’s just easy for me to do, and I can use a toy at the same time.
