Sysco Corp. has acquired Kent Frozen Foods, a U.K.-based food service distributor.
Sysco acquires UK-based food distribution company
The Houston-based food supplier announced Tuesday that it paid an undisclosed amount in cash to purchase Kent, which will continue to operate as an independent entity.
Kent joins Sysco's other British businesses, such as Brakes, Fresh Direct and M&J Seafood. The acquisition, approved in March, will allow Kent to work with Sysco and its other British subsidiaries to sell, market and distribute food products in European restaurants, hospitals, schools and hotels.
