Nice, little player. Gets the job done
I bought this mp3 player for the size and, of course, the price. Can't beat 30 bucks. Don't expect apple or samsung quality, though. The user interface is not terrible. You do have to navigate through menus to get where you need to go but doesn't take long. There are a few extras: pedometer, stopwatch, timer, radio, recorder (haven't tried any). Now the music part, which most people buy this for (I think), it's not bad at all. At first, I was worried about sound quality. The first few songs I played sounded distorted or with static/white noise and I'm not usually picky with sound quality. After the 4th or 5th song it got better. I was thinking that maybe it was my bluetooth headphones but I switched to another pair and it was about the same.Speaking of Bluetooth, pairing is a little strange. In the main menu there is a BT icon that you select and it gives you the option to search, pair or connect/view connected devices. Setup is easy but kind of slower than what I am used to. After pairing my headphones, I went to "pictures" icon and after selecting it the player asked me if I wanted to disconnect BT. I was confused. I guess it can't multitask....But not a problem. 99% of its use will be for music. After loading music on a micro sd card, I went to "music" on the player. There was only 1 song that came with the player. I didn't try turning it off or on. Instead, I went to the main menu, "folder", "card folder", then my music folder where I stored all of my songs. I played a song and after that the player knew the location of my music. Now I can just go to "music" and all of my songs are there.I'm a "shuffle" type of guy. I listen to whatever comes on, of the 500+ songs I loaded on there. I know people complain about the navigation on this thing. It's not terrible but I don't go album to album, or artist to artist. That may be an issue for you if you are used to the convenience of apple, samsung, or other user-friendly interfaces.Overall, this is a great mp3 player. It does play videos, which I can't remember the format that it supports (it's not a common one that I ever use) and it has plenty of features that I will probably never use. The size is perfect. It weighs nothing, very light and solid feel. The card slot on the side isn't bad, the micro sd clicks in and out and the card does not hang out of the slot. Definitely worth the price. 4.5 stars!Note: I had issues at one point with my bluetooth headphones. I noticed the right side was not playing. I disconnected and reconnected and problem solved. I was impressed with the BT range. I went about 100 to 110 feet before losing connection, through a cinder block wall. I haven't tried running or exercising, yet.Update, one week of use: mp3 still working great. I have realized that sound quality is bad on many songs stored on the memory card. I will test the music off of my phone and compare. I don't see why copying mp3s would cause a drop in quality. It has never happened to me so I'm going to point at the mp3 player. But it's not random. It's the same songs every time. Also, certain songs will only play on the left speaker of my headphones. Not sure why. I have tried three different headphones and same thing. Might be a software issue. I'm still sticking with 4 star rating. Battery life is about 6 hours at 70 to 80% volume. Since the sound comes from the headphones, I'm not even sure that the volume on the mp3 player affects battery life. But who knows. I have 3 main sets of headphones that I use with the player and all of them maintain great connection with the player.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing for the size and price.

I bought this to replace my FIIO X3, costing $180. This mp3 player for $30 will satisfy any casual or daily user. It's incredibly light, but seems reasonably sturdy.

Sound quality is very clear and clean: Trebles are crisp (including cymbals and consonant sibilants). Bass is satisfying, especially after EQ adjustment. I needed my fancy headphones to hear a difference between this player and my stereo amplifier, though it was noticeable then. As a musician, I'm picky about sound quality; this player sounds just fine to me - not quite like a home stereo, but amazing for the size and price, not "tinny" at all. It's plenty loud; anything over a quarter volume is too loud; I tried it with several headphones. I haven't tried the Bluetooth feature.

Battery life is excellent. When off, it retains its full charge for at least a week, probably much longer. When playing, it played my music for 2-3 days continuously until the battery was exhausted. It recharges quickly.

Interface is OK but not intuitive. I use it to play music in bed while falling asleep, in the dark. Managing volume controls, stop/start etc. is not really possible without looking at the screen. I would have preferred separate buttons for volume control that worked by feel, at a minimum.

File transfer from my computer is a simple drag-and-drop.

Overall, for the price, it's far better than I had a right to expect.

This is a solid music player. Bought this for my daughter who needed something to play music to a BT speaker. Paired it to a Bose Micro speaker and it works great. My only complaint is that you have to connect it to the speaker each time you power up the player. Used support initially when I was having trouble getting it connected at times and they were responsive. Battery life is good for about 8-10 hours. Works best when the BT speaker you've paired with it is not paired to anything else.

Despite this player support 64GB micro SD cards, it cannot show more than 4,001 songs. I have close to 6,000 in my collection that I copied over, and so cannot access a third of my songs. The interface is also very bad, but you can get used to it. I am returning this immediately, it's that bad. I wish my iPod (5th generation) hadn't died :(

I have two kids in middle school that don't have cell phones yet, but love music. I got each of them one of these and so far, they like them a lot. We have not had any issues with adding music and the battery life seems pretty good. For the money, it's a good value. They figured out how to navigate them pretty quickly too. I don't know how they'll hold up but right now...we're happy.

If I didn't like them, I wouldn't have kept buying them. However I do have quiet a few issues with them.

1. The user manuals are appalling, making it very difficult to work out how each one function.

2. They change the user interface on every new device, and without decent manuals, it's a bit of a task trying to work out how each one works.

3. Their customer service is terrible. They seem to be more interested in your purchase details. I waited one month before I got a response to a query, by which time I had worked it out for myself. It is nice to constantly hear they are sorry about the English in their manuals. Funnily enough this one came with a separate coloured sheet with very detailed instructions on how to submit a review on Amazon. If only the same style could be applied to their scant, error-ridden manuals.

4. The latest one, where this review is located is probably the best one so far. I'm glad they have gone back to hardware buttons. The previous 'soft' buttons were awful - if you put the player in your pocket while walking, that process constantly activated the buttons, making it unbearable. While the new design is more compact and user friendly, I can't believe they took away the 'back' button. This makes it very unwieldy when you want to change folders. Terrible!!!

Fantastic little unit, just what I was after, something that would play FLAC files. Only niggle I've had is that some FLAC files won't play when they've been obtained from 'certain' sources. So I'm taking FLAC files, converting them using VLC media player to FLAC files but with the highest possible bit rate etc, and they are working a treat. Other thing to watch is if the music file data is missing 'Album Artist', they don't show up, so I'm using MP4Tag to make sure all metadata is included. The sound quality is fantastic. I'm using it with both Apple in-ear 3.5mm buds, and an Audio Technica ATH M50. I've been AB testing with MP3 files of the same song - e.g. Funkadelic's Maggot Brain, there's literally whole guitar tracks missing from the MP3 version. Highly recommended. The UI and screen is a little old school but this wasn't important to me as I'm purely interested in audio (but it does play video etc too).
